Odyssey: The Remix Trailer (My Movie).

UPDATE: I've posted the embedding.

While I'm in my conference period, I thought I'd go ahead and post up the trailer for the movie. Also, expect Film Production Diary #10 later tonight. Anywho, here's the trailer. Again, for those who don't know, the movie is a modern adaptation of The Odyssey.

Here you go:

  1. Good job, my man. Looks pretty funny and interesting as well.

  2. Love the punching sound effects. :D

Actually, it looks like you did a really good job with the actiony stuff. I'm surprised your vid hasn't been taken down - I thought YouTube took down anything with copyrighted material in it.

Wish the music wasn't so loud - made it hard to hear the actors, but overall I liked what I saw. Looking forward to the whole thing.

  3. YouTube doesn't remove copyrighted material anymore (at least with music). Instead, they just tack on an ad and ban the video in certain countries (I wish that was a joke).

Sorry about the music. I was a bit more tedious on the actual movie to make sure music was softer during dialogue. But with the trailer, I only had a couple hours to throw one together, so I just tried to strategically place dialogue bits where the loud music bits weren't.

And yes... love the punching sound effects. It makes it that much cheesier/fun. I have plenty of other sound effects throughout, but the punching ones are my favorite.

  4. Finally got to watch this the other day.

It looks like, above all, you guys had a lot of fun making it and (hopefully) the kids were able to learn the material easier this way. Hell, even I could pick out scenes (from O, Brother, anyway - I sure as hell haven't read the Odyyssey).

Some funny bits, some decent acting (especially from that guy that played the teacher), some bad acting, some interesting camera work...can't wait to see what you come up with for R & J.

  5. Haha... I so overacted the teacher bit. I hope I do better in this next movie. But I'm glad you liked it. I hope R&J will be even better now that I've learned what works and what doesn't. It was kind of a crash course the first time.
